Reversed Apartheid

Question: I do have an employee working with me and everyday she makes remarks ,like “a white man will never rule this country again” or she will say some bad about a white man, she saying it in a joke way but i believe there is more to it and she does it in front of other staff. I did speak to her regarding her remarks to stop it, because it can lead to an argument, but no it’s still going on.

Answer: Any speech that contains political or racial innuendo is forbidden in a workplace environment, even if said in jest. I do not know whether you are the Manager/Owner or merely a fellow employee so it is hard for me to address the correct procedure to follow. I suggest that her conduct is reported to a senior level in the form of a written grievance whereby your discontent in the manner in which you are spoken to, is outlined and further that the outcome you seek is one whereby such manner of speech is stopped with immediate effect.
