Disappearing Salary

Question: If I am unhappy with a salary reduction/restructuring due to a decrease in department revenue what options do I have? I am not able to survive on the basic being offered and do not think the
incentives are obtainable. Thanks.

Answer: As stated numerous times on the site, everyone must realize that there is a global recession and many Companies, even the larger ones, are either retrenching numerous staff or even closing down. As long as your Company is following the correct restructuring procedures with required consultation they can legally proceed with their course of action. The next step for them will be laying off staff, so in a way, be grateful that you are still gainfully employed. However, if you are not able to survive I would suggest that you immediately start looking for alternative employment.
