Accrued Leave

Question:

I am serving my notice and am 4 days away from leaving my current company. My employer is notorius for trying to find fault with every staff that leaves the company and end up not paying them a cent for their leave days or the days of notice served. The employer always gets away with it. I am now facing that experience, I am getting cross questions about things I have done or not done. What should I do if i do not be paid for the notice period days and leave days?

Answer:

Accrued leave is a statutory payment and is payable by law. If you are not paid out leave due you may lodge a complaint with the Dept. Of Labour. This is a free service and a labour inspector will ensure you are paid any monies due. All that is needed is for you to call the Dept. And ask to lodge a complaint for unpaid accrual leave.
