Leave Cycles

Question:

We have just had letters come round from our Head Office regarding our leave. Below is a segment of the letter please can you tell me if this is allowed or not? “Please be advised that your leave entitlement must be taken within the leave cycle (March – Feb). Maximum leave balance as at end February 2010 will be 15 days. Company policy does not provide for leave to be carried into the next leave cycle to be accumulated. Any leave that is not taken within your leave cycle will be forfeited.

Answer:

Yes as this is what the law requires and states. An employee must take leave and should not accrue indefinite amounts. Any accrued leave to date cannot be forfeited on implementation of this so best to enjoy it and take it all. Hey its paid!
