Split Companies

Question: Am I entitled to a severance package when a company splits and operates as two completely different entities and I get transfered to the newly formed company and start working as a new employee. What happens to my long service with the older company. Does the latter have to pay me severance?

Answer: By rights you are transferred with all your previous terms and conditions, length of service etc. There should be no adverse affects on your current situation as opposed to previously
